[08:09:43] <Charon77> let me check
[08:10:53] <Charon77> solskogen|M: btw, how did you build blender? when I tried I got
[08:10:54] <Charon77>
[08:10:54] <Charon77> CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:290 (message):

[08:25:00] <Charon77> re: gnubiff
[08:25:01] <Charon77> I don't understand, seems to be building fine on my end without it?
[08:28:41] <solskogen|M> oh.. it does? It didn't before.
[08:29:19] <solskogen|M> confirmed. Closing MR :-)

[10:33:10] <solskogen|M> I think we're as covered as we can be right now with x86_64 vs aarch64 packages. The few that are left are either x86_64 only packages - or doesn't build on neither
[10:33:48] <solskogen|M> the exceptions are linux-lts, linux-rt and linux-zen.
[10:34:07] <solskogen|M> We do, however, need a rewrite of the linux-tools package.

[14:01:19] <SpieringsAE> is there a reason that the dtbs have been moved? System failed to boot after an update
[14:01:31] <SpieringsAE> they are in /usr/lib/ now?
[14:01:58] <SpieringsAE> Do I have to set up a hook or something to get it into my boot partition?

[14:14:01] <SpieringsAE> yeah but for the current build they changed from /boot/dtb/ to /usr/lib/dtbs/. So they didn't end up in by boot partition.
[14:14:54] <SpieringsAE> cant really see it in the commit history, guess because of rebasing
[14:23:11] <Charon77> you're not crazy, here's one in the history:

[14:58:30] <bschnei> hey SpieringsAE, you probably weren't in the channel when I announced we were going to move the dtbs
[15:01:49] <bschnei> see: https://gitlab.archlinux.org for some background, but even without that MR, I have never been a fan of trying to manage /boot directly from the package. There is so much variation in how ARM devices boot and we don't really support anything right now except UEFI. You will most likely want some pacman hooks to manage dtbs
[15:01:51] <phrik> Title: RFC66: Boot standardization and bootchain package (!66) · Merge requests · Arch Linux / RFCs · GitLab (at gitlab.archlinux.org)
[15:03:24] <SpieringsAE> ty, will look into it
[15:04:02] <bschnei> another potentially helpful reference is how we handle rpi5 which you can find here: https://github.com
[15:04:03] <phrik> Title: linux-rpi5/linux-rpi5.install at main · bschnei/linux-rpi5 · GitHub (at github.com)
[15:04:51] <bschnei> obviously in a device specific community package like this...you can do whatever you want. but we can't do the same in the generic linux package
[15:05:41] <bschnei> sorry for the breakage. hope it wasn't a major inconvenience
[15:06:00] <bschnei> installing to /boot was lazy from the start and i knew it was going to be a problem :/
[15:07:30] <SpieringsAE> it wasn't too big of an issue, I had a backup boot entry for testing kernels, booted into that, then copied the dtbs
[15:07:51] <bschnei> spoken like someone with experience :)
[15:08:10] <SpieringsAE> haha yep, always have a backup boot entry on this machine
[15:08:27] <bschnei> remind me your device again?
[15:08:41] <SpieringsAE> snapdragon x elite asus vivobook s15
[15:10:51] -!- TheDcoder6 has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
[15:11:12] <bschnei> ah it seems the bootloader is locked unfortunately. but you know where the dtbs must go so in this case some pacman hooks are probably a great solution so you can continue benefiting from using the generic linux package
[15:11:34] -!- TheDcoder6 has joined #archlinux-ports
[15:11:37] <SpieringsAE> eh its uefi, so I use systemd-boot
[15:11:43] <SpieringsAE> its very usable
[15:11:57] <bschnei> oh perfect. interesting that it still needs dtbs at all then...
[15:12:01] <SpieringsAE> only have to add the devicetree option to the boot entry
[15:12:18] <SpieringsAE> yeah the one provided by the firmware is very much not upstream compatible
[15:12:23] <bschnei> booooo
[15:12:37] <SpieringsAE> so the secondary uefi bootloader needs to load it
[15:12:42] <SpieringsAE> yeah, oh well
[15:13:20] <SpieringsAE> I asked ASUS to at least upstream the firmware binaries for gpu and such to linux-firmware, but they denied :(
[15:15:23] <bschnei> To date, most of us have documented on personal sites/github device-specific guides. I'm not aware of any policies that prohbit sharing such work on ArchWiki (like https://wiki.archlinux.org) in case that's of interest
[15:16:40] <SpieringsAE> thats an interesting idea, will think about it

[17:43:25] <lynxy> hey- this is probably a dumb question, but i've been using the drzee repo as linked in the archlinuxports documentation for some time and pacman is suddenly trying to get me to import a key that it cannot automatically fetch
[17:44:06] <lynxy> i've pulled it from the documentation page links and manually installed it, but pacman now claims that every package i try to install is "corrupted (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature)"
[17:44:10] <lynxy> i think i've messed something up
[17:46:01] <solskogen|M> lynxy: can you post the full error? I *might* be that I've updated a package, but not bumped pkgrel - which means that you have to download the package again
[17:49:02] <lynxy> well, it's simply `error: key "0CF25682E6BA0751" could not be looked up remotely`, which changes to `[package] is corrupted (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature)).
[17:49:02] <lynxy> Do you want to delete it? [Y/n]` for every package, once the key is manually imported using `pgp --homedir /etc/pacman.d/gnupg --import pubkey.asc`
[17:51:02] <lynxy> this is using the repositories as outlined on https://ports.archlinux.page with the provided package signing key
[17:51:46] <solskogen|M> Have you tried importing https://arch-linux-repo.drzee.net ?
[17:53:02] <lynxy> yes :]
[17:53:07] <lynxy> that is the exact key i have imported
[17:53:12] <lynxy> it *should* work
[17:54:15] <solskogen|M> are you getting the error on one package or more?
[17:54:50] <lynxy> all packages
[17:55:47] <solskogen|M> Have you tried "pacman-key --init" and "pacman-key --populate" as well?
[17:55:53] <lynxy> yup
[17:58:58] <solskogen|M> what is your SigLevel in pacman.conf?
[17:59:31] <lynxy> "Required DatabaseOptional"
[17:59:36] <lynxy> ah
[18:00:18] <solskogen|M> "SigLevel = Required DatabaseOptional" should work
[18:05:48] <lynxy> oh- huh. i remember changing siglevel during initial setup months back
